"You will be a better mom because you are a theologian, and a better theologian because you are a mom."

Is it true? In this blog, I explore the interplay and intersection of motherhood and theologianhood.

Maia is Three!!!

I guess Maia didn't want to blow out her candles at her party at the park. She took off running and ended up in the sandbox. On her actual birthday (the 21st), she did better.

Working Full-time Parents

It's hard trying to do work from home. This past week, the husband and I have had several debates about what kinds of work should be done while watching the kids. Of course, I do academic work when I'm alone with the girls, but it's always when they're asleep (or when Maia is in post-nap sleepy cuddle time mode - see above). Jeff sneaks it in whenever he can - including when Eva's wide awake laying on his leg. My sister reminded me that I shouldn't try to hold others to my same parenting standards. Kids should know they're important, but they should also know that sometimes they need to wait to get your attention. Thanks for those reminders, sis. But I have a feeling we'll keep duking this out... maybe I'm just jealous because he seems so motivated to do his work. I am, but I am also motivated to make the most of my time with the girls. Not that he's not. But well, I guess it's just different.
